Day 75- July 27

Home again, home again, jiggity, jig

By Al

Sally was not feeling well in the morning, so she stayed home while Carol and I went to the Polly Hill Arboretum.  This was a nursery started by a woman named Polly Hill.  She eventually turned it into an arboretum open to the public.  There were many interesting types of trees which would not grow inland, but do grow on Martha's Vineyard because of the milder weather.

Carol with a big leaf magnolia.  Really big leaves.

It was a very pretty place, with many interesting trees and shrubs.

We also stopped at a glass blowing studio.  They were making a glass bowl.  It was very interesting to watch.  I would like to try glass blowing some day.

We flew home today- after lots of sun, beautiful places, and a good visit.

Getting on the plane reminded me of when we lived in Bemidji- and had to walk out to the plane on the tarmac.  It was much less pleasant in Bemidji in the winter.
